Gurcharan Das is an Indian author, public intellectual, and former CEO of Procter & Gamble India. Over a corporate career spanning three decades, he led the company’s operations in India before retiring to pursue writing and thought leadership.

He is best known for his influential works on India’s economic transformation, including India Unbound, which examines the country’s journey from independence to liberalization, and The Difficulty of Being Good, a philosophical exploration of ethics rooted in the Mahabharata.

Das is a graduate of Harvard University, where he studied philosophy, and he continues to write and speak widely on economics, morality, and India’s evolving place in the world. His work bridges business, literature, and philosophy, making him one of India’s most respected contemporary thinkers.
