Membership of the Union

The Union is built by its members — the people in the seats, and at the floor microphone, at every sitting.

What membership is

The Delhi Union stages structured, filmed debates in which the people who hold power — ministers past and present, senior advocates of the Supreme Court, ambassadors, editors — are made to defend their positions against an opposing bench, before a live audience.

Members are that audience. They hold a seat at every sitting at the Constitution Club of India, and the right of the floor: when the benches finish, the questions come from the House.

Who may apply

Membership is open by application to students and professionals alike. Student applicants are verified against a current institutional enrolment.

Admission to individual sittings is limited by the capacity of the hall — members are seated first.
